Battle Of The Coral Sea 1959

During World War II, sub commander Jeff Conway (Cliff Robertson) is captured by the Japanese and taken for questioning to a small Pacific Island. There he learns that the island's owner, Karen Phillips (Gia Scala), is acting as interpreter for the Japanese. At first, suspicious of her offer to help him. Jeff comes to trust Karen and, with her help, leads a successful escape. Once free, Jeff tries to get the information which he has learned about the location and plans of the Japanese fleet to the American warships. After battling against great odds, Jeff manages to convey his all-important information to the American Naval Command. This leads to the U.S. victory in the Battle Of The Coral Sea
