Since the appearance of D2s, invasive creatures that originated from a black meteorite, the United States has been thrown into turmoil. To prevent further loss of life due to the D2s' aversion to music, citizens were banned from playing any melodies, a law that remains in effect in 2047. The only hope of defeating these creatures lies in Musicarts, young women who embody pieces of classical music, and their Conductors, those who control and command them. After a D2 attack kills Anna Schneider's younger sister, Cosette, an aloof piano prodigy named Takt Asahina is transformed into a Conductor, and finds himself paired with Destiny, his Musicart. Desperate to stabilize their partnership, Takt, Destiny, and Anna journey to the Symphonica Headquarters in New York City, where they hope to find answers. Takt is in a race against time to reach the city and play the piano again, despite the danger it attracts. Meanwhile, Destiny's sense of duty often leads the group into trouble. Facing a path infested with D2s and other obstacles, will the trio survive the journey to New York City unscathed?
