56 ViewsOct 23, 2022

Famous Players Limited Partnership (AKA Famous Players) is a Canadian-based subsidiary of Cineplex Entertainment. As an independent company from 1920 - 2005, it existed with film exhibition theatres, bowling alleys, and 2 cable television service providers. Nathan Nathanson was the 1st president after Paramount Pictures bought his Paramount Theatre chan in 1920; later acquiring all Allen Theatres locations. In 1953, Famous Players unleashed COINBOX technology, along with purchasing CKCO-TV (Currently Part of CTV-Bell Media), and CFCM-TV (Currently Part of Groupe TVA), thus controlling Canadian TV within the 1950s and 1960s, until creating "Canadian CableSystems LTD" or "Metro Cable" to oversee it's TV related operations. The rest of the story, is within history books. And this is if Paramount and Cineplex Canada revived Famous Players, as a JOINT VENTURE. Credits to original Paramount logo remakers for their original models.
