Led Zeppelin - You Shook Me BBC

26 ViewsFeb 13, 2023

"You Shook Me" is a blues song written by Willie Dixon and J.B. Lenoir. Earl Hooker was the first to record this song instrumentally, and Muddy Waters' vocals were later added in 1962. This song was later recorded by many rock artists, including Jeff Beck on his 1968 album Truth, and the most famous version recorded by Led Zeppelin on their debut album Led Zeppelin I. Due to the great similarity between Led Zeppelin I's version and Truth's, Beck accused them of stealing his idea. At that point the friendship of Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page would end.
