What's saddest about this whole debacle, for me, is that the core idea is so good. The first wave of Harry Potter fandom has grown up, so making a Potter-verse movie focused on adults rather than kids actually makes a hell of a lot of sense. And there'd be a lot of stuff to dig into there. But somehow these turned into a pure shitshow when they didn't need to be.
