Art gallery 1939 On a dark and stormy night, the items collected inside the Art Gallery come to life. The story centers around the statue of Nero who wants to burn the a painting of Rome; his matches go out. He tries to have a set of monkeys to take the matches from another painting. When this doesn't work, Nero fakes injury and while the monkeys wander through the other still life paintings, they become drunk on lighter fluid. They accidently become a flame thrower to the delight of Nero. The museum is ablaze and the paintings sound the alarm to fight the fire that has started. The bookworm 1939 Three witches need a worm to complete their potion; they dispatch a raven to catch one, and he goes after a bookworm. He chases the worm into the horror section, where the monsters attack but soon, Paul Revere rides Black Beauty to the rescue, along with the Police Gazette, and other assorted war heroes; eventually, the Boy Scouts build a match-stick bridge, leading the worm to safety. One Mother's Family (1939 )A mother hen is taking her brood for a walk. They encounter obstacles along the way, such as traffic. There’s one clumsy chick who repeatedly has more trouble than the rest.  The Blue Danube 1939 The Blue Danube has to be one of the most beautiful-looking 30s(and perhaps even ever) non-Disney cartoons, and some of in the second half of the cartoon shows some good visual imagination. Particularly striking about the animation is the most exquisite use of colour I've ever seen in a cartoon and the effortlessly graceful movements on the Fairy, the rotoscoped design blending with the traditionally drawn backgrounds without jarring a jot. The colourful and meticulously drawn background art cannot be overlooked either. The Mad Maestro (1939) The moment where the drummer hits the maestro on the head contains a sound effect which would later become a trademark for Hanna-Barbera productions.
