Fran, the young cat-eared girl who was mistreated as a slave, encounters a sentient sword known as Teacher and becomes its wielder. After joining the Adventurers’ Guild in the fortified city of Alessa, Fran takes on quests and steadily makes a name for herself as an adventurer.
Determined to achieve the “Evolution” that lies beyond strength, Fran sets her sights on fulfilling her greatest wish. Teacher, eager to help her achieve it, decides that their next destination will be the port town of Dars.
Along the way, they discover the Floating Island in the sky and meet Jean Du Vix, a necromancer seeking to conquer its labyrinth. Accepting his request, Fran and Teacher join him on the expedition. But the labyrinth is crawling with terrifying undead beasts!
