I joyfully left the palace, ready to tell my husband that I was two months pregnant, only to see the Marquis's residence draped in white mourning cloth, and the steward in tears. He stumbled to my sedan chair, "Young Madam, the Young Master… he is gone." The world spun. Shishu quickly grabbed my arm, "Princess, be careful." Ignoring everything else, I staggered into the mansion. The mourning hall was set up in the Marquis's ancestral temple. The entire residence was enveloped in grief.
