Su Monian was a teacher in North City. Her boss wanted to keep her as a mistress after seeing she was alone, but when rejected, he fired her out of anger. After being fired, Su Monian came to teach at a rural school where she met her student Xinxin. Upon seeing the scars on Xinxin's body, Su was reminded of her own childhood experience with domestic violence, felt sympathy, and wanted to help Xinxin.
