The Beauty on the Pillow

General Fu Li buys a dancer named Qing Zhuang from a music house. She appears to be a simple-minded beauty who can dance and sing well. He buys her because she looks like his deceased childhood love, Xin Niang. However, Qing Zhuang is actually a spy sent by enemy forces to gather intelligence and assassinate Fu Li. She pretends to be innocent while secretly carrying out her mission. As the emperor falls ill, palace intrigue unfolds involving the ambitious Prince Dongping and Princess Six. Another spy, Yun Que, arrives to monitor Qing Zhuang's progress. Through various schemes and close calls, Qing Zhuang's true identity as the supposedly dead Xin Niang is eventually revealed.
