Ghost Baby

“Ghostly Baby” tells the tale of a group of university students who encounter a series of bizarre events in their dormitory lives. The protagonist, Zheng Qianfei, is an outgoing girl who one day dreams of a mysterious phone number. At the “reminder” of her roommate, Huo Qing, she adds the number as a WeChat friend. Excited to chat online with this “dream lover,” she soon discovers that he seems to be hiding a secret no one knows. Meanwhile, Huo Qing, a reclusive and perpetually gloomy roommate, repeatedly hints that Zheng Qianfei’s boyfriend is not alive—going so far as to call him a “dead man.” Her words leave Zheng Qianfei both angry and baffled, but as their interactions deepen, Zheng begins to notice strange anomalies about her boyfriend: he never makes voice or video calls, and even his photos are eerily blurred. Even more unsettling, Huo Qing appears to know every detail, as if she has long since seen through the truth. As the plot unfolds, Zheng Qianfei’s friend Lin Anran and others become entangled in the mystery. While they try to comfort Zheng, they are shaken by Huo Qing’s remarks. She not only casts doubt on Zheng’s relationship but also keeps bringing up taboo subjects like “death” and “ghosts,” turning the dorm into an atmosphere of tension and dread. Just when everyone thinks it’s all nonsense, unexplained phenomena begin to surface: late-night knocking at the door, reflections in the mirror, and eerie messages from her boyfriend… All of this forces Zheng to reassess her situation and, in turn, uncovers the truth behind Huo Qing. At its core, the story revolves around the boundary between reality and the supernatural. Through nuanced psychological portrayals and a suspenseful narrative, it explores fear, prejudice, and trust within human nature. Audiences will follow Zheng Qianfei step by step as she unravels the mystery and confronts the secrets lurking in the darkness.
