Five years ago, Zhao Ling'er accidentally became pregnant with Gu Zichen's child. During a difficult birth with severe bleeding, Gu Zichen's subordinate bribed a nurse to take away the twins. Zhao Ling'er was told her babies didn't survive. Five years later, to escape harassment from Wang Buren at a jewelry store, Zhao Ling'er pretends to be married with children. Through various encounters and misunderstandings, including identity investigations and romantic complications with Jiang Yiyi, Zhao Ling'er eventually discovers Gu Zichen's true identity as a wealthy businessman and demands divorce. However, Jiang Yiyi discovers Zhao Ling'er is the twins' biological mother and tries to cover it up. After Gu Zichen's persistent pursuit, Zhao Ling'er forgives him and learns the truth about their children, leading to a final confrontation with the antagonist Zhao Guo.
