Subaru Ayase's son, Yuu Ayase, attends the prestigious Saika Academy, which is renowned for its development of potential. The Mikadono sisters, Miwa, Nico, and Kazuki, are all prodigies in shogi, martial arts, and performing arts, but Yuu is nothing compared to his mother. Yuu, in fulfillment of his mother's last desire to "build a happy family," moves in with her old acquaintance, who also happens to be the father of the sisters. Despite the sisters' chilly and alone state brought on by their extreme devotion to their crafts, Yuu's generosity and perseverance gradually start to heal their damaged relationships and unite the family.
