Summary
Xu Yuan, a pampered girl, is forced to abandon her studies due to an unexpected pregnancy. On the eve of delivery, she learns her marriage and pregnancy were a scheme by her husband Zhou Xishen and father Xu Hongshan to use her baby’s umbilical‑cord blood for their illegitimate daughter Xu Rourou. Devastated by the betrayal, Xu Yuan falls into despair, fakes her own death by jumping into the sea to sever all ties. When Zhou Xishen and Xu Hongshan hear of her “suicide,” they are filled with anguish, discover the truth, and realize how badly they wronged her. They try to make amends, but it’s too late.
