Original title: Platoon Leader — A fresh-out-of-training lieutenant is dropped into the Vietnam war and handed a combat platoon that doesn’t trust him, doesn’t respect him, and doesn’t think he’ll live through the week. Surrounded by jungle mines, snipers, ambushes in elephant grass, and nonstop hit-and-run attacks, he has to earn his men the hard way: by bleeding next to them.
As the Viet Cong tighten their grip on a remote village and the platoon’s firebase comes under siege, the lieutenant goes from textbook tactics to raw survival — holding the line in a war that doesn’t care who’s “in charge,” only who’s still standing at dawn.
