During the reign of Emperor Wen Cheng, the Tiger Guards secretly controlled Chang'an, growing in power. Hu Yiang, a government official from Huainan County, is called to the capital by Emperor Ji Wu Yang to eliminate corrupt officials. General Yan Feng Shan, leader of the Tiger Guards, refuses to relinquish power and plots to split the nation and make himself king. He hides his forces in "Soldiers' Alley," waiting for the right moment to strike.
With the emperor’s support, Hu Yiang allies with General Gu Yu, swordsman Ye Zheng, painter Bai Guan, and scholar Xie Zi Ling. Together, they use their wisdom to destroy "Soldiers' Alley" and stop Yan Feng Shan’s plan, restoring peace to Chang'an.
