Avro Vulcan: The bomber that almost destroyed Indonesia. The Avro Vulcan was a jet-powered, tailless, delta-wing, high-altitude, strategic bomber, which was operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1956 until 1984. It was one of the three "V-bombers", along with the Handley Page Victor and Vickers Valiant, which formed the backbone of the UK's nuclear deterrent during the Cold War.
