The film stars Sanjay Dutt (as the villain), Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff. The plot focuses on the escape and attempted capture of criminal Ballu (Dutt) by sub-Inspector Ram (Shroff) and his cop girlfriend Ganga (Dixit).
