Even before I joined a lot of anime servers in 2020, I felt like I've heard of this series. It is recommended by many and still beloved to this day. So I finally decided to watch it last year.
I left it feeling disappointed. My main issue is that I know I like the premise of the story and I wanted to like it more but I just don't. I particularly did not care much for the side characters so I was hoping the relationship of the main couple would give me the satisfaction I wanted out of the show. Sadly, I was dissatisfied as I watched the final episode. I simply wanted even just a little more of them being happy in their newfound relationship. I really do like the pairing which why I'm happy this AMV turned out better than I expected. I knew I would have a hard time working with the material.
I'm currently collecting the manga and I hope reading it in that medium will allow me to raise my enjoyment of the series.
