Young Jinta and his sister are forced to leave their house during the Edo period and take sanctuary in a mountain village. Years later, Jinta has become an expert swordsman and has vowed to defend the rural shrine's maiden. Jinta faces the evil beast in the forest after being charged with killing a demon that poses a threat to the shrine, only to discover a startling reality. The demon describes what will happen in a century and seventy years, when Jinta will have to face the demon. As Jinta hunts a demon through time and has to confront his own evil side, an epic fantasy odyssey spanning several eras begins.
