A plague of wind blows across the dry sands of post-apocalyptic Japan. The cause of the world state of catastrophe is thought to be mushroom spores. Known as the "Man-Eating Mushroom", Biscochi is a wanted criminal archer who instantly grows mushrooms wherever his arrows go. However, he was actually a "mushroom protector", someone who spread the fungus to enrich the land and restore it to its original state.
Along with crab Akutagawa and young doctor Milo Nekoyanagi, Bisco ventures across the wastelands of Japan in search of the fabled "Sabikui" - a panacea said to devour all kinds of rust.
