In this world, a so‑called “hero” is nothing more than the cruelest form of punishment. Those burdened with grave sins are branded with the title “Hero” and condemned to the punishment of battling the Demon King. Even if they fall in combat, they are forcibly resurrected—death itself is not permitted. Zaylo Forbatz, the former captain of the Holy Knights, was subjected to this “Hero Punishment.” Now he leads a punitive hero squad composed of twisted, convicted criminals, fighting and bleeding on the front lines of the battlefield. In this bleak despair, Zaylo encounters one of the strongest living weapons—The Sword Goddess, Teolita. Her words to him were chilling yet strange: “When you have slain every last enemy, be sure to praise my name… and then pat my head.” To survive, and to avenge those who framed him, Zaylo makes a pact with the “Goddess.” With that bond forged, he throws himself into this desperate world—a storm of brutal slaughter and sinister conspiracies.
